The Energy Web Chain (and its test networks) uses parity’s Aura Proof-of-Authority consensus engine. It is highly configurable, allowing us to manage or configure it through smart contracts as well. These type of contracts we like to call system- or infrastructure contracts. More information about Aura and various related system contracts can be found on Parity’s wiki: https://wiki.parity.io/Proof-of-Authority-Chains and https://wiki.parity.io/Permissioning.
In this section we present our setup of system contracts and how you can interact with them, since EW Chain are public (but permissioned) chains.
Our contracts are open sourced and you can find them in our repo here: https://github.com/energywebfoundation/ewc-system-contracts.
